Purpose, Mission, & Vision

Purpose

Encourage children to develop a deep passion for exploring new concepts, ideas, and skills while embarking on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

Mission

We are dedicated to fostering a love for learning through immersive experiences in the natural world. Our mission is to ignite curiosity, creativity, and a sense of wonder in every child, creating a foundation for lifelong learning.

Vision

Mentor children while they discover their world and grow into their divine purpose.

About Our Village

We believe that children thrive in a more flexible and natural environment that embraces their true selves. When we allow children the space to truly grow into their authentic selves, while providing loving guidance and compassion, they achieve their highest potential.

Social-emotional learning

Microschools are an innovative approach to the traditional school. By reshaping the traditional educational model, The Village Discovery Center sets out to offer children a safe space to learn in a way that allows them to flourish into their true selves.

Microschools are sometimes thought of as "outsourced homeschooling," and provide the freedom from rigid structures and standardized assessments prevalent in public schools today.

The Village Discovery Center is an independent, private microschool. By collaborating with students and their families, together we empower students to tailor their own learning experiences and take responsibility for their progress.

Full-Time Academic

Kindergarten through 5th grade

Our program provides mixed-age classes for K-5th grade students. Families can choose between a 4-day (M-Th) or 5-day (M-F) program. We use a blended learning approach that incorporates adaptive technology to personalize each child's learning experience. The day is divided into six parts: connection/social-emotional learning, core skills, free-play/outdoor exploration, hands-on learning activities, reading skills, and project-based learning.
